Pastors Steve and Sonya Kim, Senior Pastors
Pastors Steve and Sonya are the founding and lead pastors of New Joy. Besides being passionate about raising their children Zachary and Isabelle to be lovers of Jesus, they are people who desire to see revival in Vancouver and to see the release of God’s Kingdom “on earth as it is in Heaven”. Their heart and commitment is to see people being released into the fullness of their inheritance in Christ. Pastor Steve is passionate about communicating God’s Word to bring life and revelation of the Father’s heart to the next generation. Sonya’s passion is inner healing. She and Pastor Dave Pak have ministered God’s love of healing and restoration to people so that they might live in the promised freedom that was paid for by Jesus’ death on the cross.
Senior Leader Dave Pak, Executive Leader
Dave loves the Church and loves that God has placed him in a role to serve a family of believers. He helps support Pastor Steve and Sonya through his counseling ministry as he walks alongside and partners with members to see the power of God transform their lives, causing them to live out their destinies. His passion is to see God raise up spiritual mothers and fathers in this generation. Dave’s sweetheart is Elissa, his comforter and greatest supporter.
Senior Leader Brian Ha
Brian oversees the Community Group ministry at New Joy. He equips group leaders to nurture and care for their members and has a deep desire to establish authentic Christian community within the church, as a proclamation of God’s kingdom come. Brian loves to see people grow in maturity as they live out their faith in community, learning to love those who are different than themselves. Brian’s lovely wife and partner is Doris and the joy of his heart is his daughter Jadyn.
Senior Leader David Ko
David oversees the discipleship groups at New Joy. He’s passionate about equipping the saints to their unique calling and full potential in Christ, focusing on a deeper intimacy with Jesus. His heart is to see people transformed by the Word of God and the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. David loves doing life with his best friend and beautiful wife, Vivian.
