What We Believe About Children’s Ministry 

God loves to reveal Himself to His people – including children!  He commends children because they have the pure faith to believe that He is who He says He is and that He’ll do what He said He’ll do.

When the children put their trust in Jesus, they are not filled with a junior Holy Spirit but with the very full presence of God Himself!  They are able to fellowship with Him, to learn how to hear His voice, to pray for others, to minister encouragement and healing to others, to do everything Jesus gives them the power to do.

Faith is primarily begun and nurtured in the home by parents, and it is our role as a children’s ministry to partner with parents in this.

What We Hope to Accomplish Through Our Children’s Ministry

• To love the children as Jesus loves them.
• To model relationship with Jesus and to encourage our children to be lovers of Jesus so that they would have a growing relationship with Him.
• To help equip our children to be true members of Christ’s body, operating in the gifts of the Spirit and being empowered to be lights in their homes, schools and church.
• To impact a child’s head and heart. To educate the children in the Word and to help them experience His presence.  Education in the Word without the Holy Spirit is just learning about a book.  Experience without the Word leads to faulty understanding of who God is and what He’s saying.
• To help equip our parents to continue nurturing their children’s faith at home.

Some Info on Our Teachers

Our teachers of all the age groups are people who are committed to doing their best to teach your children.  All of them were recommended by their Community Group leaders because they showed spiritual maturity and a commitment to New Joy church life.  To show integrity and give peace of mind to the parents, they have also been given clearance from their local RCMP offices to show they have no criminal record.
