New Joy’s mission is REVIVAL! We believe that revival is a foreshadowing of God’s full presence here on the earth. His desire is shalom – to bring the world back to its original right standing with Him. To that end, we desire to be a church that ushers in God’s glory by being His vessel – that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

New Joy is a casual church with a friendly atmosphere. Come early to grab a cup of coffee in our foyer and get to know people. Our service begins at 1:00 pm, but you’ll see a lot of people hanging out in the foyer from about 12:30pm.

Our worship is exuberant and joyful! We believe that when we praise God together with our voices, it’s the only time we get to offer a sacrifice up to Him; so we want to give Him our best – with shouts and hearty singing. We want the Holy Spirit to feel welcome to do what He wants to do and we try to show Him that we’re open to His presence.

Our Prayer Ministry Team members wear nametags to let you know that they are under the accountability and authority of New Joy leaders. They have been trained to wait on God and to speak words of life and encouragement that come from His heart to His people. Their hearts are to speak accurately the words they feel God is speaking and to minister His love to whoever they’re praying for. They have also been trained to pray for healing using the Five-Step Healing Model as taught by Global Awakening to pray for physical healing. The mission of our team is always to show God’s love to you whatever the situation. Even if you have no specific need, it’s a good time to just receive prayer.

We love children and believe that they can also meet God when they come to church. We worship all together as a big family, and then the nursery children are excused after about 10 minutes to go into the nursery. The older children are excused at the start of the announcements.

Here’s a report of my getting healed of lactose intolerance.

On Sunday, March 25, N.N got a word of knowledge about God wanting to heal lactose intolerance. I had been wanting to be healed of my mild lactose intolerance since I heard a testimony of someone getting healed in the Healing Room late last year. That day the HEM team got a break from ministering after service, so we did not release the word in the sanctuary.

After service, 8 of us, including N.N and I, went to Boston Pizza for dinner. Someone at the table said they had lactose intolerance, which reminded me of the word from God before service, so I shared this with the table. N.N asked who at the table had lactose intolerance and 7 hands went up (all except for him). He had us join hands and prayed for us.

Afterwards, I messaged some people and 3 reported that they did not have trouble from eating pizza. That Thursday, I had some steamed milk from Starbucks and did not have any problems with it. That night, I wanted to really test things out and bought some Timbits to have with a large glass of skim milk. I have not been able to drink skim milk since I was a teenager. I did not have any problems at all! Praise God! He healed me! I found out the following week, that another person at the table (who I didn’t message) was also healed. God is Healer!

I injured my foot on January 29, 2012, when I tripped while walking up some paved stairs, wearing my rubber rain boots. Because the boot provided for very little flexibility, my foot could not naturally bend as I fell, and my toe/foot impacted directly into the concrete. As soon as I wiggled my toes in my boot, I knew that I hurt my foot pretty badly (but I didn’t think anything was broken). The following day, I saw a doctor and had my foot x-rayed. I did not hear back from the doctor with any news of any part of my foot being factured, so I continued on, although my foot was very sore to walk on. On Saturday, February 18, 2012, I went to see a new doctor, and she advised that I get new x-rays done because my foot was still sore.

On Sunday, February 19, 2012, I attended New Joy and during service, Pastor Steve asked that prayer be said over those who had ailments. While this was being done, I was rotating and bending my foot, and it was clearly very sore. I received prayer after service and requested that my foot be prayed over. After prayer, I tested putting pressure on my foot, and it was still sore. I was advised to see Justin to tell him what happened. I told Justin what had happened to my foot, and he told me to take my shoe and sock off and sit down. He sat cross-legged on the floor, and I placed my foot on his calf. He advised me to be in tune with what was going on in my body and that I may feel electricity, or maybe feel nothing at all. He lightly placed his hands on my foot and began to pray. I closed my eyes and meditated on the prayer, and at first, I felt nothing. He continued to pray. I suddenly felt heat where his fingers were placed on my foot. I opened my eyes, and Justin asked me what was happening. I felt that not only was there heat, but there was a sharp feeling of pressure, almost like pinching, where his fingers were placed. After prayer, he then asked me to gently test my foot out. I stood on it, and it felt normal. I applied more pressure, and it felt normal. Then came the test of putting pressure on the side of my big toe (which was very painful to do, even after the first prayer I received). I couldn’t feel any pain at all. I began bending and flexing my foot, and I could not feel any pain. Praise the Lord! I was overwhelmed with joy and thankfulness; I felt weak in the knees and my hands were shaking.

The following day, I did feel some pain when I put weight on my foot as I walked, but the range of motion in my foot and moving my toe around didn’t hurt at all. I do believe that the Holy Spirit touched me that Sunday. A friend of mine challenged me to receive prayer each Sunday since first coming to New Joy at the beginning of this month. I am more than willing and excited to take on that challenge!

Back in December I had stopped by the church to pick up a light for the children’s Christmas play we were organizing. It was raining outside and I was wearing boots that didn’t really have any kind of grip on the bottom. When I walked in the lobby my foot slid on the tile and in the middle of me trying to catch myself I twisted my left ankle. I’ve twisted my ankle multiple times before from playing sports so I didn’t really pay much attention to the pain since it usually goes away after a couple of weeks. But this one healed funny in a way that affected my heel.

I couldn’t rotate it because when I did it was painful. Standing on it was out of the question and walking long distances ended with me limping. It was even harder for me because I’m in the worship ministry at my church so whenever we played it would get really uncomfortable that I would have to stand like a flamingo with one foot.

I’ve attended the New Joy Church for three weeks now and I’ve gotten prayer each time but never in the healing section. But, while waiting for my friend to finish her prayer, I decided to just go for it. Justin read out the testimony of the woman who’s foot God healed through him and I thought, “Yea! Let’s go for it!” So he cupped my heel in his hand and began to pray. For a while there was nothing. I couldn’t feel anything happening but I focused on Justin’s prayer and kept praying myself. Then my heel started getting prickly as if it was asleep and the feeling was just coming back. He told me to test it out but when I did I still felt pain and I got a little discouraged. But Justin said that we still have to keep going so I agreed.

This time he placed two fingers on the sides of my heel where I felt most pain and started praying again. Again, at first there was nothing but then it started to feel prickly again. But this one was different. It was like there were strings in my heel that were pulled really tightly and someone was taking scissors and cutting them. And every cut there was a slight pain and then it was gone. He told me to try it out again and I started rotating it this way and that and the pain was gone. I honestly couldn’t believe it. I kept bending it in ways that were painful before and there was nothing.

On Tuesday (today), the pain came back but I prayed and claimed that God had healed me already and the devil had no business giving me the pain and almost instantly the pain left me. Praise God for He’s good all the time and all the time He is good!

Angie Q.
