Jesus Generation: a Children’s Conference

New Joy Church would like to invite you and your children to “Jesus Generation”, a conference for kids and children’s ministry leaders! Our guest speakers will be the Children’s Ministry Pastors from Bethel Church in Redding, CA – pastors Seth Dahl, Laura Griffis, and Amy Gagnon. This year, we will be focusing on leading children to the very heart of Jesus, teaching them to encounter and love Him on a daily basis.

Groups of 10 or more children’s ministry workers receive a 20% discount off the conference fee. Groups of 5 or more receive 10% off. This rate is only available if registration for leaders is completed on one registration form. Or you can email her and then pay by cash / cheque at the conference. In the case that a leader cannot make it to the conference, a substitution of names is allowed; however, a refund cannot be issued.

Catalyst Ministry

This explosive new ministry is starting with a bang. Get excited to become catalysts, and change the world without being changed yourself! Here are some of their upcoming events that you are invited to join in:

-Catalyst Grand Opening on February 17 at Fraserview at 7:30pm. Everyone is invited and this is our big debut! Expect BIG things and find out to see why we’re called Catalysts!

-Hearts Over Egg Tarts on February 14th at Fraserview at 7:30pm. Have you ever wanted to talk to someone alone after service, but you just couldn’t escape the big group conversations? This is a speed-meeting event on Valentine’s Day and what better way to spend it than to meet someone new (or get to know someone better) and have an eggtart or two? So get your tickets now! La Red Business Group

The La Red business group will be starting its second set of roundtable sessions this month. La Red aims to develop deeper business community through semi-monthly roundtable discussions on Biblical business principles. Roundtables focus on encountering God through hearing His voice for revelation and wisdom.

Over the next 6 months, La Red will conduct 10 Sunday morning roundtables on a semi-monthly basis at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond. On off-weeks, La Red will meet after service for sharing and prayer. The first roundtable is scheduled for Feb 19. An introduction meeting will be held on Feb 12 for new members.

La Red is endorsed by HIM apostolic leader Ché Ahn. More information about La Red can be found at www.lared.org.

Premarital Counselling
Are you engaged or seriously dating? We want to set you up for an amazing, powerful and enduring marriage, supported by the body of Christ! To that end, if you’d like to get married at New Joy, there are a couple of prerequisites. First, you must become members of New Joy – as members, you are allowing the leadership at New Joy to have a say in your life, to protect you and set you up for success. Secondly, you must go through premarital counselling. We want to help set healthy expectations and equip you with tools to enrich your future marriage. God heals right eye and vision! – January 31, 2012

On a Thursday, my dad had gone golfing and had injured his eye in an unfathomable accident – when hitting the ball off the tee, the tee had flown right into the centre of his eye! Thankfully his vision wasn’t completely gone and there was no bleeding in the eye. When he went to the general hospital, he was referred to a specialist and had to see him immediately, despite the fact the clinic had already closed for the day. After an hour, the specialist told my dad that he would have to see a surgeon to take a look at his eye the next morning. You could imagine how nervous we were! Eventually, we found out that the tee had punctured his eye directly in the centre, which meant that his chances of recovery were very low. And had it gone a little deeper he would have lost his eye completely! He was warned that if his eye did not heal within two weeks, his sight would not be restored. But praise the Lord, his vision started to recovery rapidly, day by day. On the Sunday that followed, Pastor Steve asked us to all pray for the healing of people that we knew, and so I prayed for my dad. The next morning when my dad went back for a check-up, he had discovered that his eye was completely healed, in a matter of days! The doctor was thrilled that there wasn’t even a trace of an injury, and declared that the healing was almost miraculous! I am so amazed that my dad was so lucky to be so close to losing his eye, and yet have it restored completely in such a short period of time. I thank God that there was no infection and the pain was short. I praise God that His hands are so ready to reach out to even my father, a man who does not yet know Jesus. I praise God that He is moving in my dad’s life everyday, and He never does not forget or look away from an injured son!

This class is part 1, and is mandatory of anyone who is interested in joining our Prayer Ministry team (PMT). It will take some commitment–as it will take place after sunday service over a period of 3 or 4 weeks. Guest speaker includes PASTOR STEVE, as well as our own PMY ministry director, Eunice Nam.

New Joy 40 Day Fast

As a church and family, we will be dedicating this year to our living God by fasting together for 40 days starting January 2 to Febuary 10. Throughout the history of New Joy, we have started off each new year with a corporate fast–except for 2011 which was a prophetic year of jubilee.

WLI Vancouver Class with Gary Oates

Wagner Leadership Institute Vancouver is honoured to announce a class with GARY OATES on January 12 – 14, 2012. During thirty years of pastoral ministry, Gary and Kathi Oates have planted five churches. However, their lives and ministry were dramatically redirected several years ago when, in separate experiences, both Gary and Kathi were caught up into the presence of the Lord and began seeing the ministry of angels in the realm of the Spirit. Following those experiences, they were launched into worldwide itinerate ministry with an overwhelming abundance of supernatural results.

The focus of Gary’s ministry is intimacy with Jesus, how to experience the manifest presence of God, impartation to see in the spiritual realm, as well as healing for the whole person. He has written a book called “Open My Eyes, Lord”. Together, Gary and Kathi are bringing an exciting wealth of ministry experience and supernatural wonder to the body of Christ around the world.

During this class, Pastor Gary will be covering various topics such as:
-the ministry of angels (function, how to cooperate with angels, we don’t worship angels, eyes opened to see angels)
-supernatural experiences (what is the spiritual world? left-brain vs. right-brain, six supernatural experiences we can all have)
-demystifying the supernatural (our five spiritual senses and how they work, the importance of discerning of spirits, how to use sanctified imagination)
-how to receive revelation and unlock the mysteries of heaven (four keys to receive revelation, how to position yourself to receive and understand)
-intimacy with God (accessing the miraculous through intimacy with God, how to experience his manifest presence everyday, how to seek his face and not his hand, the cumulative effect of developing intimacy with God)
-keys to fulfill your ministry (the priorities of ministry, becoming a servant leader, integrity and character in ministry)

I know I say this about every class, but this is definitely one that you do not want to miss! For those of you who are new to WLIV and what we do, very simply, we bring speakers/teachers/prophets/apostles who not only teach on a subject but also impart and allow us to come into alignment with our covering (Harvest International Ministries) and what God is doing around the world. Dates: Thursday night November 10 – Saturday afternoon November 12

Registration: Please register with your community group leader. If you are not in a community group, please email info@newjoychurch.com to register. REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS SUNDAY NOVEMBER 6 AT 6PM.

Fees: $95/adult, $70/children (13 – 18 years old), $55/children (10 – 12 years old), $35/children (6 – 9 years old), $8/children (3 – 5 years old). Please submit your payment by cash or cheque (payable to New Joy Community Church) to Sylvia Cho.

Arrival/Departure: Please plan to arrive after dinner on Thursday night when we will have a ‘Welcome’ session and snacks. We will wrap up and depart on Saturday morning.

What to bring: Please bring your toiletries and towel, a sleeping bag and pillow, comfortable clothing, and inside shoes/slippers (no outside shoes inside the main building), and a hunger to commune with your New Joy family and with our heavenly Daddy!!

Hakuna Matata: fundraiser for Team Africa 11/11

The Africa 11/11 Team is working hard to plan a special event on November 13, 2011 called “Hakuna Matata” (which is Swahili for “no worries”). We are fully trusting God to provide for this trip and are inviting you to partner with us in what God is doing in Uganda and Kenya. Hakuna Matata will be made up of two parts: dinner and a show!

DINNER – 5:00PM; $40/person:
The dinner will be at 5:00pm and is being catered by the super-fantabulously uber-talented Lawrence Hahn. We’ve had a sneak peak into the menu and it’s nothing like he’s done before. Dinner consists of a three-course meal, drinks, and a latte with your dessert. Dinner tickets are $40 each and are limited to the first 50 people. THE SHOW – 6:30PM; open to everyone:
The show, hosted by ML + MC, consists of music, singing, dancing, testimonies, and more. There will also be a silent auction where various products and services will be available for purchase, including the amazing prophetic art by various New Joy kids. The show begins at 6:30pm and is open to everyone, even those who were not at the dinner. Even if you cannot make it to the dinner, please come out to the show and support New Joy creative arts as well as the Africa 11/11 Team. If you have any products/services that you would like to donate to the silent auction (some previous services: dental work, babysitting, man-servant for a day, cooking classes, dancing classes, jewellery, fine art prints, etc…), really there is no service/product too big or too small, please email Laura Pak: lleepak@gmail.com.
