What can I expect when I come to church services on Sunday?

New Joy is a casual church with a friendly atmosphere.  Come early to grab a cup of coffee in our foyer and get to know people.  Our service begins at 1:00 pm, but you’ll see a lot of people hanging out in the foyer from about 12:30pm.  New Joyers are usually wearing shorts in the summer, jeans in the winter.  We want you to feel comfortable to freely worship God and fellowship with His people.

Prayer meetings are held every Sunday at 12:45 – everyone is warmly welcome to attend.  The time is spent interceding for the church and members’ needs and just welcoming the Holy Spirit’s presence for the worship service. We meet in the Fireside Room.

Our worship is exuberant and joyful!  We believe that when we praise God together with our voices, it’s the only time we get to offer a sacrifice up to Him; so we want to give Him our best – with shouts and hearty singing.  We want the Holy Spirit to feel welcome to do what He wants to do and we try to show Him that we’re open to His presence.

What can I expect when I receive prayer ministry after the sermon?

Pastor Steve will always end his sermon with an invitation to anyone to receive prayer – whether it is for encouragement or for physical healing.  We believe that God desires to speak to His people for their strengthening and that He wants to and is able to minister healing to sicknesses and ailments.

Our Prayer Ministry Team members wear nametags to let you know that they are under the accountability and authority of New Joy leaders.  They have been trained to wait on God and to speak words of life and encouragement that come from His heart to His people.  Their hearts are to speak accurately the words they feel God is speaking and to minister His love to whoever they’re praying for.  They have also been trained to pray for healing using the Five-Step Healing Model as taught by Global Awakening to pray for physical healing.  The mission of our team is always to show God’s love to you whatever the situation.  Even if you have no specific need, it’s a good time to just receive prayer.

I have children.  Is there anything for them?

Most definitely!  We love children and believe that they can also meet God when they come to church.  We worship all together as a big family, and then the nursery children are excused after about 10 minutes to go into the nursery.  The older children are excused at the start of the announcements.  For more information about our children’s ministries, please click here.

How can I get more involved in the life of the church?

We highly recommend that you plug into a Community Group.  It’s the best way to get to know others who are all journeying in their knowledge and love of God together.  For more information on what our CGs are about and how to join one, please click here.
